Janet Sanders, OTR/L, CHT
Owner, Certified Hand Therapist
Janet attended Oregon State University and University of Puget Sound receiving dual bachelor degrees. She has been a licensed occupational therapist for over 30 years working alongside hand surgeons and directing therapy clinics. She opened Sanders Hand Therapy in 2011 to service the Woodburn community. The company has since expanded to multiple locations including Wilsonville and West Linn. Understanding the needs of the area, she added multiple pediatric therapists to her staff and continues to evolve the business to help those in need of therapy.
Shannon Wakem, OTR/L, CHT
Certified Hand Therapist
Shannon was born and raised in small town North Dakota and has lived in Oregon for 10 years. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2000 from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. After working in outpatient therapy for Novacare in Monticello, MN, she moved to Oregon, where two months later she began working for Providence Health and Services. Shannon started working at Providence in 2003 completing a mentorship in hand therapy and continuing her 10 years of service with them in specializing in treatment of hand injuries. Shannon joined Sanders Hand Therapy in August 2013 with the goal of providing more individualized care in an environment that supports increasing function in patients with hand injuries.
Corey McChesney, OTD
Occupational Hand Therapist
Corey was born and raised in Nebraska. He received his doctorate in occupational therapy at Creighton University in 2019 before moving to Oregon with his wife, Megan and their dog. They have enjoyed exploring the Pacific Northwest and getting to know the local community.
Rebecca Karim, MOT
Occupational Hand Therapist
Rebecca is from Southern California, heading to Glendale Arizona to receive her Masters in Occupation Therapy. She live with her husband, Kamran, in Spokane for 2 years before starting with Sanders Hand Therapy in August of 2020. She enjoys hiking, exploring national parks. and cooking.
